Ziggy Stardust costume up for auctionAs a follow up to our previous post about the Ziggy Stardust costume which Christie’s will be auctioning on April 26th, a new article on Bloomberg.com has shed some light on which costume in particular will be on sale:

Designed by Freddi Buretti, the blue Ziggy Stardust outfit exposes a leg and a shoulder and fits tightly everywhere else. On the belly and part of a thigh are decor resembling flames in orange and red.

According to the article, the costume will be on display at Christie’s 85 Old Brompton Road address, from today until an hour before the auction. Christie’s doesn’t seem to have any additional information about costume on their website yet, but they do have two paintings from David Bowie’s D-HEAD series available for 1,500 to 2,000 pounds which you are also welcome to buy for us. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Goo, I was hoping it was going to be the mesh creation with the stuffed hands on the front. The idea of a bunch of posh people bidding on that at Christie’s is hysterical.

  2. Around $4000 for a painting by Bowie? That’s not terribly horribly expensive — I’m surprised! I think you should buy one. Think of it as an investment in your future child’s college fund. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, if I win the lotto, I swear they’re both yours.
